📘 Program Overview
I am a licensed nurse practitioner with advanced clinical training, currently enrolled in the Post-Graduate Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Florida State University. This program requires the completion of 780 supervised clinical hours across four designated practicum courses, covering psychiatric assessment, psychotherapy modalities, and integrative psychiatric care across the lifespan.

🔔 Immediate Priority: Fall 2025 Clinical Placement
I am actively seeking a qualified preceptor and clinical site for my first rotation, beginning August 2025 and ending December 2025. This initial placement focuses on psychiatric assessment and diagnostics and must include at least 20 hours with pediatric or adolescent patients (under age 18).
I am based in Miami, Florida, and am especially interested in weekend availability to accommodate my academic schedule.

🔹 Pediatric/Adolescent Rotation Requirement
Students must complete at least 20 clinical hours working with patients under age 18. These hours may be fulfilled during either:
- Fall 2025 – NGR 5053L: Assessment & Diagnostics Lab
- Fall 2026 – NGR 5504L: Final Practicum

🔹 Psychotherapy Supervision Requirement
Students must complete a minimum of 45 clinical hours in psychotherapy under the supervision of a licensed therapist, which may include:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PhD or PsyD)
All remaining clinical hours must be completed under the supervision of a prescriber, such as:
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Psychiatrist (MD or DO)
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with psychiatric specialization

- Course: NGR 5053L – Advanced Psychiatric Assessment & Diagnostics Lab
- Clinical Hours: 120 hours
- Special Requirement: Includes ≥20 hours with pediatric/adolescent patients

Spring 2026
- Course: NGR 5503L – Individual Psychotherapy Lab
- Clinical Hours: 180 hours
- Special Requirement: ≥45 hours may be completed with a licensed therapist
- Focus Area: Individual psychotherapy including CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing
- Approved Preceptors:
- Prescribers: PMHNP, Psychiatrist (MD/DO)
- Therapists: LCSW, LMHC, LPC, Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Summer 2026
- Course: NGR 5508L – Family & Group Psychotherapy Lab
- Clinical Hours: 180 hours
- Special Requirement: ≥45 hours may be completed with a licensed therapist
- Focus Area: Family and group psychotherapy including family systems and group dynamics
- Approved Preceptors:

Fall 2026
- Course: NGR 5504L – Practicum in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
- Clinical Hours: 300 hours
- Special Requirement: May include pediatric/adolescent hours if not completed earlier
- Focus Area: Any psychiatric or mental health practice across the lifespan; integration of all prior skills
