I'm currently enrolled in Chamberlain University's PMHNP program. I will need to complete 625 clinical hours over the course of nine months starting March 2026, broken down as follows:
500 hours with a PMHNP, MD, or DO, which would include:
Medication Management
125 hours dedicated to psychotherapy, which can be completed under the supervision of a Licensed Psychologist (PhD or PsyD), LCSW, LPC, or LMFT. Including at least two modalities (e.g., individual and/or group therapy)
In addition to hour requirements, the program mandates experience across the lifespan, including:
Children (0–12 years)
Adolescents (13–21 years)
Adults (22–64 years)
Geriatric patients (65+)
***These hours may be completed in-person and/or via telepsychiatry, with a minimum of 250 in-person hours and up to 375 hours through telehealth.
