Saturday, April 13, 2024, the Mount Baker Nurse Practitioner Association will be supporting the 4th Annual North Sound Race and Health Equity Conference.  Registration is open and free to students.  We hope to see you there!

Join us for the 4th Annual Race and Health Equity Conference on April 13 from 9AM - 3PM.

We'll be focusing on actions for more equitable, culturally sensitive healthcare delivery.

Imagine a healthcare system where racial disparities vanish, replaced by equitable, culturally sensitive and concordant, patient-centered care for all. This vision might seem distant, but it's a future we can build together. Join us at the 4th Annual Conference at Skagit Valley College - McIntyre Hall, a powerful gathering designed to empower medical professionals like you to become champions for race and health equity in the healthcare system.

This conference isn't just about education, it's about action. We'll delve into the social determinants of health, those underlying factors that disproportionately impact communities of color. But we won't stop there. You'll gain practical strategies to bridge cultural divides, fostering trust and delivering care that truly meets the needs of your patients.

Be inspired by leading voices:

  • Dr. Yaw A. Nyame, MD, MS, MBA: This renowned surgeon and researcher will share his groundbreaking work on racial inequities in cancer care.
  • Dr. Paula Houston, Ed.D.: UW Medicine's Chief Equity Officer will offer her insights on creating a healthcare system that is equitable for all.

Engage in transformative experiences:

  • Deepen your understanding of health equity: Explore the social determinants of health and how they impact racial disparities in healthcare.
  • Connect with a supportive community: Network with colleagues who share your commitment to racial justice in healthcare.
  • Building a Community of Care: Hear from a panel of your colleagues on how to collaborate with the spectrum of care providers to provide patients with the best individualized care in and out of office.
  • Sharing Stories from the Next Generation of Care: Hear from inspiring students who are beneficiaries of the North Sound Health Equity Scholarship, how their work is already impacting the North Sound Region, and discover how your participation contributes to a brighter future.

Earn CME Credits: This conference is approved for 4 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

More than just a conference, this is a movement.

By attending, you'll gain valuable CME credits, network with like-minded professionals, and most importantly, become part of a powerful force for change. Your registration directly supports the North Sound Health Equity Scholarship, investing in the next generation of diverse healthcare providers who will shape a more equitable future.
