Announcement: SSB 5704 ARNP Reimbursement Passed Out of Committee!! We Need Your Help to Keep the Bill Moving Forward!!
We are excited to announce SB 5704  ARNP reimbursement at the same rate as the physician rate received a vote by the Senate Health & Long Term Care Committee today and was passed.  One amendment to the bill requires a study by the Office of the Insurance commissioner to evaluate the cost to the health plans to implement the bill.  This type of study was done in Oregon and demonstrated there was a small cost. With the amendment the bill is now SSB 5704 (a substitute Senate bill).
The bill now goes to the Senate Ways and Means Committee. It must receive a hearing and a favorable vote by February 7 to move forward to the Rules Committee and a vote by the full Senate.  Time is of the essence to keep the bill alive.
Attached is a list of the 24 members of the Senate Ways and Means Committee.  If you are represented by one of the members, please take a minute to send a message to the legislator with the legislative aide copied to the message.  Ask to have SSB 5704 scheduled for a hearing and vote to move the bill forward to the Rules committee. Note that reimbursing ARNPs at the same rate as the physician rate will support practices owned by ARNPs, physicians and health systems, making them more fiscally solvent providing better access to care.

Thank you for your help in this important effort.  It is deeply appreciated.
