Pearls of Practice from November's Meeting

Here is the list of  pearls of practice that was gathered from the all the wisdom that was shared at our meeting in November.  We want to keep this momentum going and hope everyone comes to the meeting March 21 st at 6 pm. atthe private dining room at  Jalapenos in Barkley VIllage.   One focus will be on sharing pearls about referrals in this area.  Please come for an opportunity to network and support each other.  

  • Never stop learning, you don't know it all, keep the patient the focus
  • Time and gravity wait for no one, listening and looking at the patient is essential, humor is essential
  • Multitasking is a skill
  • Learn from elders, don't stop listening, humor is fabulous for patients
  • Bring a Labrador to work, patients love it
  • ARNP United has made a difference to our practice and deserves our support
  • Stories are part of healthcare, integrate different attitudes into healthcare.
  • Nursing is a wonderful profession, don't be afraid to try something different
  • Being a pioneer is overrated, laugh at yourself
  • “Leap and the net will appear", believe in patient's ability to change, ask if you've met their needs
  • Be open to learning
  • Have fun at work, look back and see what you've done
  • It’s a learning experience, humor helps you though tough times, like the people you work with
  • Listen to you patients, involve patients in the plan
  • Undress your patients, look for the real problem
  • Get to know your coworkers well, care about the front desk people
  • Remember to take care of yourself,
  • Trust your instincts, staying in touch, listen and educate your patients
  • If it keeps you up at night, move on
  • Time gets by so fast, don't forget to support each other
