Overview

Mold is present almost everywhere in the Pacific Northwest! However, patients can present with mysterious symptoms when they are exposed to mold mycotoxins in water-damaged buildings such as homes, schools, or workplaces. Learning to recognize, evaluate, and support/treat mold-exposed patients may help clinicians find the root cause of presenting illnesses and offer a road-map for healing and thriving despite mold exposure. Patients may be misdiagnosed or have other illnesses exacerbated by mold exposure, with some becoming disabled or chronically ill for years. Mold exposure can also cause psychiatric symptoms such as anxiety and depression.
