Overview
This session offers a practical overview of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) fundamentals, with a focus on clinical integration and decision-making. Attendees will leave with tools to enhance bedside assessment and improve diagnostic accuracy. This is a 2-part workshop with an accompanying hands-on session.
Speakers
Dr. Jessica Schwinck is a Nurse Practitioner with varied experience including 14 years of experience in Army medicine primarily in the Emergency/Trauma focus area. In addition, Dr. Schwinck has experience in teaching both undergrad and graduate students for 7 years at Pacific Lutheran University, with a most recent focus as the Director of Graduate Programs in the School of Nursing. Dr. Schwinck holds a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Pacific Lutheran University, a Master's Degree in Nursing as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Clinical Nurse Specialist, Post-Masters Certificate as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree from the University of Virginia. She has a Post-Masters Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Pacific Lutheran University.
